havent updated for a few days, have been playing a bit. thought i would do a little update before im away for the next 4 days down at the beach with the girl, hope the weather is good.

just been playing on william hill got up a buy in, and then lost it to be even and got into a $hit talking match vs some other guy, i of course challanged him to a hu match, now i am very inexperienced in heads up games but felt i had a significant edge after i had played with this guy for half an hour at 6 max.
so we sat down at 2 tables playing with 20 euro on each.

so i ended up taking him for 68.5 euro.

then a shortie sat vs me and i told him if he took my whole stack i would give him an extra 20 euro for nothing, but he didnt last long going broke with aj vs my ak so i finished on that table on 96.3
and then some other muppet sat vs me who never raised more than min except to shove, called 90% of his hands preflop, save to say his 2 buy ins didnt last long and i took him for another 11 dollars odd.

a good night of hu might want to start playing this game more lol.
finished plus 83.2 which is equal to $164.04 AU.

have to be up in 5 hours so def going to sleep now.

soooo went to the casion with the girlfriend tonight and played 1/2 she ended up winning $40 after getting stacked early shoving a gut shot and flush draw but came back to win. (was glad to see her lose shoving rather than caling) and yes i finally won! for the first time since starting this blog lol 4 losing sessions in a row so sick, but i guess i had 8 wins in a row last month. won 120 after copping a bad beat at the end grr still running below par.

got jj 3rd hand 4 callers all folded on 332 flop so win a little.
5 mins later AA raise to 10 5 callers flop comes ah 3h 7 shortstack shoves his last 6 i re raise to 18 and get flat calld by dealer he obv has flush draw turn brings no flush so i shove he folds his flush draw king high he says shortie shows 44 and river is 4h crazy lol i win.
win like 40 with jj on board of akj x 10 we both checked the river he had ace 9

flat call with 88 pre and again on flop of 276 then donk out on the turn 20 he calls and we both check the queen river i win.
aq on the btn raise to 10 sb and bb call flop ak8 sb donks 5 bb calls i make it 20 sb folds bb calls turn is the q i bet 25 his stack he folds, then whines bout how he should have called...yea i wish lol.


early raise to 12 and 1 caller i have jj and look around guy behind me is going to call and original raiser only has a 38 stack so i pop it to 38 to isolate him for his stack he calls with aa and wins.

i make a couple of bluffs and win a hand or 2 with a cbet to stay around even nothing happens for an hour or so. fold aq to a 3bet vs the same guy who my jj lost to his aa i show him a queen and say ok il fold queens then he shows me his aa. ok cool.

our table breaks new table won a cpl of small pots only 2 major hands qq i raise to 12 station calls and then other guy shoves for 50 i shove for 200 over the top to force out the station who has played 100 percent of hands im up against 1010 and i win.
then 2 hands before i leave i get kk and guy shoves his stack on j high flop i call he has king jack.
and spikes trip jacks on the river..wtf i run sobad.
end up leaving plus 120 but that was a 128 pot i lose to a 2 outer 5 mins b4 i go, would have loved to hold up their once and win 250 get back most of my losses after the last shit week. but oh well glad to finaly win since this blog started lol.





cake started the day session playing my old short stack game and lost 21.65 making a squeeze with jj only for original raiser to call me with aq and he hit queen on the river...oh well. then tonight lost with kk a.i preflop vs aa same shit diff day.

Tilt- decided to try a little challange starting with $10 to see how far i can run it up, if at all playing 6max 5cent 10 cent not sure of exact guidelines as yet but will probably move up if i reach $50 which is 2 buy ins for 10cent25cent and if i lose 1 there left with 25 will move back down, will sort it all out tommorow. am keen to get enough to be able to multi table but on other hand stupid to multi table on these micro stakes and should only play 1 table here plus my normal games on other sites.
ended up turning the $10 into $14.35 woohoo.

make a raise to 8 with 77 four callers flop comes 568 1 guy donks out 10 i flat as do other 2 turn 4 to make my straight i bet 20 only old man calling station calls, river is 10 i would normaly check here but against old man calling station i squeeze another 30 out of him and he calls and mucks.

lose 55 with ak vs kk and 99 fold on the turn blah.
win 12 dollars with 55 on 56k all diamond board lol.
i then find aq raise to 10 get 1 caller j3h5h flop i bet 20 he calls leaving 40 behind turn is a king beutiful i bet 40 thinkng he now has to fold a jack or any draw...not so.. he calls me with 9h7h and gets his flush on the river!! blah blah blah

finaly got aa 10 mins before i leave raise it up and win blinds then 2 hands later qq raise to 9 1 caller flop 89a i bet 19 he calls turn Q beutiful i bet 33 he folds oh well.
so dissapointing night that aq hand really cost me if only he had have missed his 15 outer maybe i should have checked their, still think my reasoning was right to bet and he shouldnt have called but oh well, only down -37 could have been worse.

william hill- not so good today, played some US .25/.50 6max and after raising 4 hands in a row i got aa and thought these guys gonna have to start playing back soon so after i c bet 4.5 on flop of 938 only to see other guy shove for 45 i think im probably good..wrong he has set of 3s thought he most likely had 1010 jj or maybe 77 a9 but maybe should have folded to his massive overbet with just 1 pair, unfortunate i started thinking they have to play back at me soon influenced my decision a little. and then another short session tonight lost me like another 15 oh well cant win here everyday i guess hope to get back to winning ways tommorow.

mate come over in the day and whatched some cricket and the aussies finaly won a game! lol 1 time..then went to work, and had the girlfriend around tonight (she is alseep next to me right now) whatched the end of season 4 and start of season 5 of soprano's box set. great show. also been reading the harrington on cash game books these are good probably the best iv read and would definatly reccomend. next on the list is rolfs omaha book and/or kill everyone.

so horrible on fulltilt for me today a couple of beats. like 98 off calling my 3bet preflop and getting all in on x j 8 flop vs my aa only for 10 to turn grr, the old kk vs ak a.i preflop ace on flop standard beat just was not my day at all, made a couple of mistakes when and paid off 1 bet i should not have with my qq vs aa but thought i was behind and still made a bleeding call on the river. going to take a break from tilt for a day or too, been running bad here and cant seem to every get ahead hopefully doom switch gets turned off in that time.

on cake i played a short session of like 60 hands short stacking .5/1 again i turned my 20 into 37 but then lost it all with a9 of spades in the bb on flop of 7s7cAh 8s i thought i could make him fold to a check raise on the turn showing alot of strenght repping the 7 and even if he called i had the flush outs thought he had a hand like aq with his limp utg and bet on flop and turn but i guess the 22 extra bigblinds check raise wasnt enough and he called with aj and scoopped.

But on william hill another good day for me playing the 6pac euro game 25nl equal to AUS 55NL I think i have figured out the best way to exploit this game and after a few more days tweaking it minorly i will share it here. i plan to play a bit more US 50NL or US 100NL tommorow on w/hill coz it is also pretty soft but it doesnt work out to have many tables in the day time, and i might be out tommorow night.
i had a good session more than tripling my buy in and then 3 tabled it after stopping play on the other 2 sites winning just under another buy in, finishing me for the day:

ok so today i played a bit of 15/25 cent EURO on william hill, i wanted to play some .25/.50 USD or .5/1 But couldnt get any tables going as day time here is the dead of night in europe. so this euro currency 15.25 cent is equal to .30/50 cent Aus and i think it like roughly would equate to a .40 cent bb in USD. but the quality of play here is very bad, you get some bad beats on this site but it is definatly very exploitable, i was and only play 6 max on will and am experementing with diff strategies of the best way to exploit the fish. i.e playing the normal tag game or playing a more small ball approach keeping the pot small with one pair hands and getting it big with premium hands... i will keep this updated to see how it goes.
but it is normal in these games for 2 players to limp, their is very little aggresion and even when the aggresion comes preflop the players still call with weak cards position seems of little importance this is the same in the .25/50 cent USD games only the arnt AS BAD.

this hand was very early on in the session and helped my build my stack up nice early i have no idea wtf he is thinking at all i guess it just shows the fish in this game calling a raise with j5 flat calling with middle pair on the flop and going broke with 2nd and 4th pair even after the flush comes when i have shown no stop aggresion the whole hand, perhaps i could have re raised a little more on the turn but i wanted to get him to call whilst commiting himself to the river bet regardless of what card comes, may have worked.

this hand demonstrates what i was talking about earlier still experimenting with small ball and tag approach in this game, i decide to just flat call with aq and play a multiway pot vs the lesser players with this small approach im thinking not to raise it up when im a 60% favourite keep the pot small with these hands aggresive but small and then get bigger pots with the bigger edge...a great flop for me decide to check raise to try and get more money in the pot it works. turn comes the flush bet out again probably should have bet closer to $3 these guys just loved calling anyway ....and then on the river the terrible card!! pairing the board.
i decide to check because you know not many worse hands can call a bet here, but they can bet, but apon reflection i guess these guys would probably still call anyway. and checking also induces the bluff. a fullhouse doesnt really make alot of sense for either player here but i guess im used to playing against better tricky oppenants where it would be a possibility.
so guy shoves i snap call, hoping to get nato to call who i put on a hand like aj, a10 maybe even ak but he tank folds.
so dude has a2 and i scoop the pot, what was he thinking i dont know, i think the flop was an easy fold for him, the turn even easier, but hey im not complaining. and i guess in this case checking the river definatly got me more money because i would have probably only bet around $8 this way i got his full 14 or so.

definatly in upcoming blogs as i experiment with these diff approaches to the game i will give updates and examples of how they are both going and which i think is better, obv for decent games a good 6 max game is generally the appropriate strategy but the william hill games seem considerably weaker than say tilt cake or stars.

ok so this is my first online report of the month, i havehavent been able to play too many hands online so far because iv been spending so much time at the casino but i will be playing more over the next few days, especialy as the girlfriend is back in town, when she stays over every 2nd or 3rd night she goes to sleep at like 2am normal person time. so i hop into bed with her and after shes asleep i get in a 3 hour session of poker ussualy. i feel i have a lot of information/insights to offer about the various games at diff stakes over the different online sites which i will no doubt share some time later in the month.

i think i will downgrade my monthly goal of reaching iron man status on fulltilt to just reaching gold status this month, as i said earlier its hard getting 200 points a day for 25 days out of 28 when i will be away for 3 or 4 of them and gold status i can still collect from reaching 200 points 20 days of the month.
after the first 7 days of the month i have earnt roughly $65 rake back on fulltilt and $5 on cake BUT still unsure how much iv earnt from william hill as they are offering 60% and i only got confirmation that it is tracking my rakeback as of today so i am hoping they will back pay over the last 6 days coz that should be around 40-80 mark and i would probably have not played there if i didnt think i was getting the rake back.
so if i get paid from there i am costing towards earning 300 rake back for the month if not i will defiantly have to put some time in to earn the other 230 in like 19 days of play.

ok...so im going to keep this short and sweet, wait scratch that sweet does not apply short and brief. the night unfolded for me like this:
i call a couple of small raises and fold on the flop with q9 and ace 10 and i miss a straight draw multi way pot and one semi bluff that i didnt work and im down to 120.

when i wake up with KING hearts and King club in the bb,,middle position raises to 12 one caller and i pop it to 36 original raiser snap shoves for 150 i snap call
he shows aq spades
flop ah jh 10h turn and river blank blank wtf are you serious. ok.

my next buy in was lost after a raise and 3bet with my qq on flop of 347 all diamonds i have q of diamonds and my stack is the pot i dont really like this flop much at all but i am commited?? i shove and get called by ace 6 of diamonds for the nut flush and he ends up rivering a straight flush nh sir.

so i still havent won a hand..this changed when i win my only hand of the night with a 9 high flush when the river brings the 4th diamond in a 4 way pot that was checked the whole way through.

and on my last buy in the tables mega fish says before the hand is dealt 'ok guys lets gamble' and proceeds to bet 60 utg before the cards are dealt YES SIR i 20x the bb blind raise. i look down at ak and shove over the top 1 other fish calls because 'its his favourite hand' blind raise fish also calls and then proceeds to go all in still without looking on the flop....so the flat caller folds and its meand the fish im getting 3-1 that he doesnt hit a pair when the board rags out on me and he flips 9 10 for top pair i think either way im finished.
ran like crap AGAIN. as soon as i start this blog i cant buy a pot lol. oh well am definatly going back to crown on monday night but probably wont go the next 3 nights til then as im sick of running like this where i just cant win. oh well its gota turn around, sooner rather than later i hope.

Heading into Work?!

heading into crown casino tonight. Its strange out of the 200 plus times iv been to the casino only twice have i ever gone alone- once at like 2.30 in the morning after whatching rounders, and another time when everyone was busy on a sunday evening.
-the 4 people i generally go with-
-the girlfriend has gone away for 3 days to the beach with some old school friends,
-one friend is saving up money and cant afford to lose,
-another is the other side of the country,
-and my mate pauly who i go with the most and is on the tables every 2nd night isnt picking up his phone.\
( as i type phone, my phone rings and pauly says 'hey il be at yours in 20 mins and we will head in) was going to say, can never find someone to go with when you want to go the most, with the night of work and the girlfriend away.-

First hand I win after mucking my first orbit is 33 in sb about 5 limpers flop of qs 3s 6h I bet 12 find one caller turn 10s …I put him on a draw so I check he does too river 10h giving me full…beautiful I bet 25 and he tanks for 20 seconds and calls. He mucks I think he had a weak q or a 6. Good start.
Another orbit or so later utg opens to 6 min raise I look down at jj and make it 18 to go, get 3 callers still, sb, bb and utg. Flop comes aa5 agro asian in the sb donks out 30 folds folds folds to me, i fold he shows 55 for the flopped full.
Not long later I raise it up to 12 with aj on the button get called twice flop comes ks j 7s shortie shoves his last 35 he has been shoving pretty wide so I ehhh call he shows js6s and gets his flush on the river. not what I was hoping.
Wake up with aq in the small blind but completed for 1 dollar blind argh flop a310 I check raise all in after a guy bets 20 my bet was 80 it becomes clear to me he has weak ace so hes asking me questions like hows your kicker etc etc I tell him 2 pair is defiantly good and im not sure about my kicker hoping he calls which he does with ace 5 Beautiful
Turn 3 River King! Arghhhh split split.

Not long later mp raise to 6 min raise why do people do this??called 3 way I make it 30 in the bb with qq folds round to the shortie he shoves his last 33 I call the 3 and he shows ace 5 flops an ace and wins.
Instead of rebuying for a change I decided to play micro short stack and see if I could get some of this luck the others are getting after an orbit or too im down to $21 argh I shove with js9s on the button and get called by 55 by the bb flop a 9 and I double up woohoo.

Next orbit I limp on the btn with 7h8h flop comes ah kh 10s after a bet from mid pos to 10 and 1 call I shove my 30 ish more sensing some weakness mid position raiser folds but the flat caller calls me and shows the nut straight, I don’t improve and I bust.


The very hand I bust our table breaks as were down to 5 players and we get split up I get moved to a new table this table is no good- only 1 weak spot on it and he has position to me, still most of the players have a weakness or 2 but no real live donks on it and 3 or so good players.
Very first hand I have kk I make it 15 to go and get called by the btn flop comes rainbow 3 4 10 I bet 25 he bets my stack I snap call- btn is an agro asain iv played with many times before and he loves to make moves as soon as I call he says ‘ah im behind’ turn 10 and river 3 make me almost vomit but he shows 4 6 and I win.

Im sitting tight as the table is pretty aggressive and im eating some tea at the same time, I get ak utg raise to 15 get called twice flop of 10108 we all check turn ACE check check check river q I bet 20 and folds all round.

I then get severly card dead and don’t win a hand for seem s like 2 hours a couple of small pairs than don’t even get close to hitting sets and no high cards or suited or connectors was just disqusting. Raise it up with j9 and lose to j10 was the most action I had seen.

Finaly I rebuy to fill up my stack and manage to win $35 with kq onboard of qqjk.
Then I get aj and check raise a guy on the flop and the turn on board off aa2 5 hefolds to turn check raise.
Now finally I pick up aa after 6 hours in the bb 6 limpers to mei make it 20 to go…6 folds….grrrr

10h 7 8h it goes raise to 12 raise to 25 call 25 and action on me..argh this a tough spot I tank consider re poping but I know this guy who re raised to 25 he used to be crazy asian gambler but has now gotten decent at poker and everytime iv seen him re raise in the last 3 sessions hes had a set or the nuts so I think he probably has j9 here so I call drawing to a full house at this point. Pot 250 ish turn brings the king of hearts it goes check, and asian guy checks next guy who flat called the original bets thinks and makes it 50… I know he has the flush what else can he have but calling 50 dollars into a 300 pot I stick around river j of clubs oh well if I wasn’t beat by the flush im dead now..he shoves I muck…

Asian guy starts talking about how sick he had the j9 nuts and ‘that fucking heart killed me’ I tell him I had a set and ask other guy if he has flush he says he did I believe him we were all pretty open I think he played that face up so I defiantly think he did. feel i lost the minimum by stick with my read a few months ago i would have got all in with the line im could be way in front and if im not i have outs..And that’s that.
I leave exactly 151 down. Not good. I feel that’s not bad because I think I run/ran a bit below equity and never got a decent run of cards so not much I could do..maybe back again tonight..:) or maybe just an online session after work.

so what now?

ok first of i guess i need to confess i cant write to save my life. grammer? average at best. spelling less than impressive. The aim of this blog? hopefully to improve my results at poker, i win at poker small winner though but could definatly improve my winning by keeping an updated record of all wins/losses and some extra motivation to quit on those losing sessions when nothing goes right, if the whole world can see what happened the next day. well it might work might not, nothing to lose right? hopefully i can sort of entertain you along the way if anybody actualy reads this lol.

so i play online multiple sites ussualy under the name samilace i play a fair bit live at crown casino melbourne- this is where i have my best results by far, ussualy go anywhere between 1-4 times per week. my main game is the 2/3 i occasionaly play 1/2 when their with the girlfriend and have started to take the odd shot at 2/5 have won a lot at this casino last 12 months hope it continues

so i guess i better outline some goals for febuary.
- reach iron man status on full tilt again....not so hard 200 points a day for 25 days, only obstacle only 28 days this month and i will be on holiday for 4 of them. :$
-have a positive result on all sites for my online play.
- receive 350 plus from rakeback.
-win 300 plus from live play (won 900 last month so not a huge goal this month just want to make sure its another winning month.)
